Background
The 21-year-old Cobb had three singles and a double in five at-bats and stole two bases; in the ninth he singled, stole second and third, and was thrown out trying to steal home. George Mullin won for Detroit and Jack Pfiester took the loss. It was the Tigers' only win in their back-to-back World Series losses to the Cubs.
