The Cubs scored in the first on a walk, a stolen base and Harry Steinfeldt's RBI single, and again in the second on an error, a single, a double steal and a groundout. Detroit left runners on second and third with one out in the fourth and never seriously threatened after that. Cubs manager Frank Chance, at 30, remains the youngest manager to win a World Series title.
