Kisuke Urahara

Kisuke Urahara runs the Urahara Shop in Bleach; his wooden sandals and bucket hat earn him the nickname "Mr. Hat-and-Clogs". He is relaxed and joking to the point of scaring off customers, yet he is a sharp inventor who reads an opponent's weaknesses quickly, and he trains Ichigo Kurosaki and his friends in the cave-like basement under his store. He turns out to be the former Captain of Squad 12, promoted from 3rd seat of Squad 2, and the founder of the Shinigami Research and Development Institute.

A century earlier he caught Sousuke Aizen turning Hiyori and other Soul Reapers into Hollows; he saved them by making them Vizards, but was framed and fled to the World of the Living. He tried to hide his invention, the Hōgyoku, in the gigai he made for Rukia, yet Aizen took it. Later he builds a Fake Karakura Town for the battle with Aizen and, although beaten, leaves a kidō seal on him that triggers once the Hōgyoku rejects Aizen. His zanpakutō is Benihime and his bankai is Kannonbiraki Benihime Aratame.
