Yhwach

Father of the Quincy and ruler of the Wandenreich.

Yhwach is the main antagonist of the second half of Bleach, after the timeskip. He rules the Wandenreich, is the forefather of every Quincy and is the son of the Soul King. As Sternritter "A" he holds The Almighty, which lets him see every possible future and, at full strength, rewrite it.

Lore & Background

From birth Yhwach could heal people by placing a piece of his soul in them; when they died the fragment returned to him with their skills and knowledge, extending his life. Revered as a holy child, he took the name of YHWH. Defeated by Yamamoto a thousand years before the story, he was sealed for nine centuries and nine decades, then spent nine years stealing the powers of impure Quincy, including Ichigo's mother Masaki, through Auswählen.

Reader's Guide

The Almighty sees everything that can happen; once Yhwach sees a power, it can no longer defeat him. He also scattered pieces of his soul across the Seireitei so each death in battle lengthens his life.

After Aizen's defeat Yhwach conquers Hueco Mundo and imprisons Tier Harribel. He invades Soul Society, steals Yamamoto's bankai and kills him with it, and tells Ichigo that Masaki was a Quincy. He names Uryū as his heir, replaces the Seireitei with Silbern, and then storms the Royal Realm where the Soul King lives. His stated goal is to remake reality into a world without death.
