Piandao
The Fire Nation swordsmith who taught Sokka.
Master Piandao is a swordsmith and master swordsman based in the Fire Nation in Avatar: The Last Airbender, who teaches Sokka the foundations of his craft.
Lore & Background
His devotion to the sword outweighs his loyalty to the Fire Nation: he knows from the start that Sokka is from the Water Tribe and does not mind, believing that the way of the sword belongs to no single nation. He is later revealed to have tutored Zuko in swordplay, and he joins the Order of the White Lotus to free Ba Sing Se. He was voiced by Robert Patrick and played by Jon Jon Briones in the live-action series.
