Tui and La Moon Ocean Spirits

The Moon and Ocean spirits of the Northern Water Tribe.

Tui and La are the Moon and Ocean spirits of Avatar: The Last Airbender, who came into the physical world and stayed, living as koi in the Spirit Oasis of the Northern Water Tribe's capital. They play an important part in waterbending.

Lore & Background

Admiral Zhao learned of them and killed Tui to end waterbending for good. Empowered by Aang in the Avatar State, La took its true form and drove off the Fire Nation fleet, and Tui was restored when Princess Yue gave up her life to become the new Moon Spirit. On its way back to the oasis La dragged Zhao into the depths.
