Jeong Jeong

The exiled Fire Nation admiral who gave Aang his first firebending lesson.

Master Jeong Jeong is a former admiral of the Fire Nation navy who lives in exile with his followers in Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Lore & Background

He had once taught Zhao, who quit because he thought Jeong Jeong's methods did not work. Though he warned against it, Jeong Jeong taught Aang the basics of firebending with a flame and a leaf, and Aang came to see that he had to follow the proper order of the elements after he accidentally burned Katara. Like most of the old masters the team meets, he reveals himself as a member of the White Lotus at the gates of Ba Sing Se. He was voiced by Keone Young and played by Terry Chen in the live-action series.
