Hannes
The Garrison soldier who carried Eren and Mikasa out of Shiganshina.
Hannes is a Garrison soldier who rescues Eren and Mikasa during the attack on Shiganshina. He owed the Yeager family a debt, because they had saved his wife and family from a deadly illness.
Background
By the time Eren finishes his cadet training, Hannes leads a Garrison squad. He helps Mikasa and the Survey Corps recover Eren from Reiner and Bertolt, and dies fighting the Titan that had eaten Eren's mother. Isayama has said Hannes and the drinking Garrison soldiers of volume 1 are the characters most like himself.
