Background
When Trost is breached and Eren is shown to be able to become a Titan, Pixis and his men stop Captain Woerman from shooting him, then send soldiers to protect Eren while he tries to seal the wall. Later he backs Erwin's plan to overthrow the monarchy, starting with the hoax that the Colossal and Armored Titans had breached Wall Rose. In a 2010 blog post Isayama said he based Pixis on the Imperial Japanese Army general Akiyama Yoshifuru, which drew heated arguments and death threats on the blog in 2013.
