Background
Their revenge leads to the founding of the Assassin Brotherhood and its long conflict with the Templar Order. In the modern day the story follows Layla Hassan, an Abstergo researcher who joins the Assassins.
Ubisoft Montreal led a four-year development with nearly 700 people from other Ubisoft studios, and the team consulted Egyptologists and historians about the setting. To answer complaints that the series had grown stale, Origins added many role-playing elements and a new hitbox-based combat system.
Critics called it an improvement on earlier entries, and the game has sold over ten million units.
