Background
It has two playable protagonists with different play styles: Fujibayashi Naoe, a kunoichi, and Yasuke, an African samurai based on the historical figure of the same name. Quests can be approached in more than one way depending on who is used.
The open world, about the size of Origins, changes with the seasons, and winter freezes the ponds Naoe can hide in. Targets are not marked by default: players recruit scouts to narrow down where they are from clues.
Other new features include going prone, a grappling hook for parkour and breakable objects. A Nintendo Switch 2 version followed on December 2, 2025.
