Cadmus

The genetics lab that made Superboy.

Project Cadmus is a DC Comics genetic engineering project founded by Dabney Donovan, Reginald Augustine and Thomas Thompkins, first housed in an abandoned aqueduct outside Metropolis. It creates non-human "DNAliens" and clones, and later Superboy, a clone meant to replace Superman.

Background

In Young Justice, Project Cadmus creates Superboy, a hybrid clone of Superman and Lex Luthor; Match, a fully Kryptonian clone of Superman meant to replace or destroy him, who becomes unstable and is put in cryogenic storage; and the genomorphs. The scientist Mark Desmond, Blockbuster, works for Cadmus and the Light and turns himself into a monstrous blue form with his own formula. Its head of security, Guardian (Jim Harper), is a clone of Roy Harper made to believe he is Roy's uncle; after Desmond is defeated, the Light appoints Guardian head of Cadmus. The original Roy Harper was imprisoned by Cadmus, which replaced him with a clone.
