The Helmet of Fate

Doctor Fate is a DC Comics superhero created by Gardner Fox and Howard Sherman who first appeared in More Fun Comics #55 (May 1940). The original Doctor Fate is the archaeologist Kent Nelson, whose encounter with Nabu, a being of the Lords of Order, makes him a sorcerer.

Lore & Background

Several Doctors Fate appear in Young Justice. Nabu, an ancient metahuman and son of Vandal Savage, became a Lord of Order after being killed fighting Starro and is the power behind the Helmet of Fate. When Kent Nelson is killed during Wally West's fight with Klarion, his spirit moves into the helmet; Wally wears it to defeat Klarion, and Nelson stays with Nabu until Nabu forcibly expels him into the afterlife. Kaldur'ahm, Wally West, Zatanna, Traci Thurston (Thirteen) and Khalid Nassour are among the characters who serve as Doctor Fate.
