Yellowfang
ShadowClan's exiled healer, ThunderClan's medicine cat, and the mother of a tyrant.
Yellowfang is a medicine cat in Warriors who serves first ShadowClan and then ThunderClan. Exiled from ShadowClan by its leader Brokenstar, she is found starving on ThunderClan land by the apprentice Firepaw, is held prisoner there, and after proving her innocence becomes ThunderClan's medicine cat in place of the murdered Spottedleaf. She is the mother of Brokenstar, a secret she keeps for most of her life. She dies in the forest fire of Rising Storm.

Lore & Background
Yellowfang's Secret tells her early life in ShadowClan. From a young age she feels the pain of other cats as if it were her own; she trains as a warrior, but the medicine cat Sagewhisker persuades her that the gift suits a healer and takes her as apprentice. Despite her vows she has a secret relationship with the warrior Raggedpelt, later the leader Raggedstar, and only one of their kits survives. She gives him up without revealing that she is his mother, and he grows up to murder his father and rule ShadowClan as Brokenstar.
When she protests the deaths of kits he has sent into battle, he blames her for two of them and drives her out. In ThunderClan she trains the injured Cinderpaw as her successor. After a battle against Brokenstar and his rogues she blinds him, admits to Fireheart that he is her son, and in Forest of Secrets ends his life with poison berries. Her spirit later shows Jayfeather who his father is, and in the Great Battle she kills Brokenstar's spirit.
