Chaos Wastes

The Chaos-warped far north of the world.

The Chaos Wastes, also called the Umbra Chaotica, are the far north of the Warhammer Fantasy world. Unlike the Realm of Chaos itself they are part of the physical world, and from there the barbaric Warriors of Chaos invade the civilised nations.

Lore & Background

They are home to mutated plants and animals, Daemons, Chaos monsters including Beastmen, Greenskins, and the barbarian human tribes of the Norse, Kurgan, Hung and Tong. The Wastes border Grand Cathay, the Eastern Steppes, the Ogre Kingdoms, Norsca and Naggaroth, where the Dark Elves have built a line of watchtowers against Chaos incursions.
