Kislev

The cold northern kingdom of steppe, lancers and the bear-god Ursun.

Kislev is a cold human land in the Old World, north of the Empire and south of Norsca, modelled on Russia, Poland and other Slavic lands. Most of it is cold steppe, with a broad taiga forest in the east and a vague border in the northwest with Troll Country, a monster-ridden frozen marsh.

Lore & Background

Its peoples came in waves, first the Roppsmenn, then the Ungols and finally the Gospodars, who united the region. The army relies on Streltsi infantry with firearms and on the Winged Lancers, called the Riders of the Dead because they are mourned as if already dead. Kislev's chief god is Ursun, the bear-god of winter and strength, and its people have a special bond with bears.
