Marienburg

The free city at the mouth of the Reik, richest in the Old World.

Marienburg is a free city-state at the mouth of the River Reik, on the western edge of the Empire in Warhammer Fantasy. It is the largest and wealthiest city of the Old World.

Lore & Background

Culturally it belongs with the Empire, but politically it is fully independent, having bribed a past Emperor to let it secede. Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay modelled it on the Low Countries, as the only city of the region called the Wasteland, and Mordheim includes human mercenaries from Marienburg.
