A bruxa is a vampire-like monster in The Witcher. In the short story "A Grain of Truth" from The Last Wish, Geralt identifies Vereena, the companion of the cursed Nivellen, as a bruxa.
Lore & Background
Vereena loves Nivellen, but has been killing his other female companions, including a girl and her father whose corpses Geralt had found in the forest. In the fight that follows she overwhelms Geralt, until Nivellen joins in and impales her. The bruxa confesses her love for Nivellen just before Geralt kills her, and the confession breaks Nivellen's curse.
Reader's Guide
In the Netflix series, Vereena is played by Agnes Born. Geralt investigates the nearby village and determines that a bruxa caused the villagers to flee, and he later sees her drinking Nivellen's blood.
