A witcher's medallion marks his school: after completing his witcher training, Geralt of Rivia receives his Wolf medallion, the symbol of Kaer Morhen. In the Netflix series, the witchers' medallions start vibrating to indicate that a monster is near.

The bounty hunter Leo Bonhart claims to have killed three witchers and has their medallions as proof, though Yennefer questions whether he actually defeated them in a sword duel. In The Witcher 3, Ciri wore a medallion representing the School of the Cat. In Crossroads of Ravens, Geralt loses his witcher gear and later recovers his medallion.
