Lore & Background

As Duny, the Urcheon of Erlenwald, he was afflicted by a curse that transformed him into a hedgehog man, and he demanded Princess Pavetta's hand through the Law of Surprise, having saved her father's life several years earlier. As emperor he invaded the Northern Kingdoms. Cahir was supposed to capture Ciri and bring her back to Emhyr, but she fled. His spymaster Stefan Skellen, who is in charge of searching for Ciri, is secretly working to overthrow him.

In the Netflix series Emhyr is portrayed by Bart Edwards, and in the video game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt he is voiced by Charles Dance. In Baptism of Fire he has installed the elf sorceress Francesca Findabair as client queen of Dol Blathanna, and the young woman he produces as Ciri is an impostor.
