Background
During the assault the Governor orders Lilly to kill Lori, who is protecting baby Judith. After shooting them she discovers that the Governor has made her kill a baby and becomes extremely distraught. When a large crowd of zombies breaks into the prison yard, Lilly kills the Governor as he gathers his forces and throws his body to the horde, then tries to lead what remains of the Woodbury survivors into the prison. The prison is overrun, and the comic never shows what becomes of any of them.
Robert Kirkman announced that Lilly Caul is a different character from the Lilly of the Walking Dead video game. Her fate is revealed in The Walking Dead: The Fall of the Governor, in which she escapes the prison and leads a small group of surviving Woodbury soldiers back to the safety of the town. She becomes Woodbury's de facto leader and takes in a new group of refugees to live alongside the original residents.
