The Architect
The father of the Matrix.
The Architect is the "father" of the Matrix and its predecessors, an exceptionally powerful AI played by Helmut Bakaitis. He first appears in The Matrix Reloaded, when Neo meets him.
Lore & Background
The Oracle describes him as trying to balance the equations of the Matrix while she unbalances them. He tells Neo that the machines allowed Zion to exist to cope with human choice, that the city has been destroyed and the Matrix rebooted by the One five times before, and that the cycle is about to repeat.
