The Oracle is a character in The Matrix franchise, created by the Wachowskis and played by Gloria Foster in the first two films and by Mary Alice in The Matrix Revolutions, after Foster's death. She also appears in Enter the Matrix and The Matrix Online.

In the first film she appears as a cheerful old woman who smokes and bakes cookies, using her foresight to advise and guide the humans fighting the Matrix; she is later revealed to be a sapient program integral to the Matrix itself. Neo meets her three times: in an apartment full of "potentials", children who may be the One; in a paved courtyard in Reloaded, carrying candies that resemble the red pill; and in her kitchen in Revolutions.
