Skull Kid is a young imp who first shows up in Ocarina of Time, where faceless Skull Kids in the Lost Woods play a memory game with the young Link and one rewards him for playing a certain song.

Quick Facts

First game: Ocarina of Time
Key role: Majora's Mask

Lore & Background

In Majora's Mask, the Skull Kid travels with the fairies Tatl and Tael and steals Majora's Mask, which gives him great power while corrupting him. Under its sway he curses the people of Termina and draws the moon down toward Clock Town, until the Four Giants hold the moon back and Link defeats Majora. He remarks that Link smells like the fairy boy who taught him a song in the woods, which suggests he is the same Skull Kid from Ocarina of Time. He also appears in Twilight Princess and is playable in Hyrule Warriors Legends and Cadence of Hyrule.
