In the secluded western desert, the Gerudo population consists mostly of women serving their king, a man born once every century. Nabooru is a Gerudo thief who opposes Ganondorf's quest for the Triforce. Her defiance leads to her capture and imprisonment within the Spirit Temple, where she waits for Link to free her. As a child, Link meets her briefly and she asks him to steal the Silver Gauntlets from the Spirit Temple.

Link obtains the Silver Gauntlets as a child from a chest in the Spirit Temple after defeating an Iron Knuckle, before freeing Nabooru as an adult. As an adult, Link must navigate the temple's puzzles to reach her, and after freeing her, she reveals her identity as the Sage of Spirit, one of the Seven Sages who seal the entrance to the Sacred Realm after Ganondorf is defeated, and who pray for the Master Sword's power to seal evil. Her spirit joins with those of Saria, Darunia, Ruto, Impa, and Zelda to imprison Ganondorf after he transforms into the beast Ganon.

Reader's Guide

The temple requires solving music-based puzzles using the twelve melodies learned on the ocarina. This awakening is crucial for the game's climax; it allows the seven Sages to seal Ganondorf in the Sacred Realm. The guide emphasizes that only adult Link can access this temple, fitting his larger stature and ability to wield specific weapons like the Fairy Bow required for certain sections.
