Michael Returns from Sicily

After killing Sollozzo and McCluskey, Michael hides in Sicily. While Vito negotiates peace between the New York families, including Michael's safe return, Michael survives an attempt on his life in Sicily that instead kills his wife Apollonia in a car bombing. He returns to the United States and gradually takes over the family business from his father, marries Kay Adams and promises to make the family's operations legitimate within five years.
