Connie Corleone Wedding Reception
The wedding of Connie Corleone and Carlo Rizzi that opens The Godfather.
The Godfather opens in the mid-1940s with the wedding of Vito Corleone's daughter Connie to Carlo Rizzi. During the reception Vito grants favours to a succession of visitors, following the Sicilian tradition for a daughter's wedding day, among them his godson Johnny Fontane. Michael introduces his girlfriend, Kay Adams, to his family and tells her he wants no part in the family business. The scene was shot in a Staten Island neighbourhood with almost 750 locals as extras, at a house on Longfellow Avenue in Todt Hill, with band music by Carmine Coppola.
