Tom Hagen Removed as Consigliere
Michael replaces Tom Hagen as consigliere.
When Vito Corleone semi-retires and his son Michael becomes operating head of the family, Michael removes Tom Hagen as consigliere in favour of having Vito fill the role, saying Hagen is "not a wartime consigliere". Hagen is hurt but respects the decision, and is restricted to handling the family's legal business in Nevada, Chicago and Los Angeles.
