Medina Station

The alien station at the heart of the slow zone, controlling the ring network.

Medina Station is the name given to the alien space station located at the center of the hub of starless space, which is accessed through the rings. This hub is approximately one million kilometers across and is referred to as the 'slow zone' after the third novel. The station controls the gates and can set instantaneous speed limits on objects inside the hub as a means of defense.

The station is a highly defended alien structure situated in the center of the slow zone, a starless hub approximately one million kilometers in diameter. It has the ability to control the more than 1,300 rings that lead to other star systems and can enforce speed limits on objects within the hub as a defensive measure. The station was later occupied by the Free Navy, with four techs named Jakulski, Roberts, Salis, and Vandercaust working for them on Medina Station.
