Protogen

Protogen is the Earth-based company that, in Leviathan Wakes, found an alien organism on Saturn's moon Phoebe, named it the "protomolecule" and released it on Eros as an experiment to learn what it was built to do. As Eros's security contractor it faked a radiation alert so that people in the shelters could be infected. Its plot also aimed to push the inner planets and the Belt into war. With the OPA, Miller and the crew of the Rocinante attack Protogen's secret base in the Belt and bring the company down.
