Background
As a whole, the saga earned a Hugo nomination for Best Series in 2017 and took the award after a second nomination in 2020. Syfy adapted it for television under the same title, and Amazon Prime Video made the last three seasons.
In its future, the Epstein Drive, a fusion engine capable of continuous acceleration, has let people spread across most of the Solar System, though not to other stars. It uses real places such as Ceres and Eros in the asteroid belt, the moons of Jupiter and Saturn, and settlements on Mars and Luna.
When the story opens, a UN-led Earth and Mars share control of the system in an uneasy military alliance.
