Mars

Mars is one of the two superpowers of The Expanse: at the start of the series its government and Earth's United Nations control the Solar System in an uneasy military alliance, with heavy tension between them and with the Belt. The Martian Congressional Republic Navy produced the Rocinante's pilot Alex Kamal, and a rogue Martian fleet under Winston Duarte later breaks away through the ring gates to Laconia. In Babylon's Ashes the navies of Earth and Mars fight the Free Navy.
