Asura
The first kishin and the ultimate antagonist.
Asura is the ultimate antagonist of Soul Eater. Eight centuries before the story he was one of the Great Old Ones, brought into being when Shinigami split off a fragment of his own soul.
Lore & Background
That fragment carried Shinigami's fear, which shows in Asura's paranoia, his bandaged face and layers of clothing. To quiet his fear he swallowed his weapon Vajra and devoured human souls until he became a godlike being whose madness wavelength strips others of their sanity. Shinigami defeated him and sealed him in his own skin beneath the DWMA building. Early in the story Medusa's followers revive him with black blood and he escapes; Maka later finds him hiding on the moon.
