After Ace's death, Donquixote Doflamingo put the fruit up as the prize of a gladiator tournament at the Corrida Colosseum on Dressrosa. Luffy entered to win it, but his brother Sabo, chief of staff of the Revolutionary Army, took the tournament, and with Luffy's blessing ate the fruit to carry on Ace's will, then fought Admiral Fujitora and Jesus Burgess to protect Luffy.
