Lore & Background

Millennia later, Madara Uchiha inadvertently revived Kaguya instead of achieving his dream of peace when he became the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki. Black Zetsu, revealed as her agent, betrayed Madara and turned his body into her vessel, and she carried Team 7 off into dimensions of her own. Only Naruto and Sasuke, given power by Hagoromo, were able to seal her.

Reader's Guide

The conflict begins when Madara Uchiha, having absorbed the Ten-Tails, prepares to cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi. However, Black Zetsu betrays him, manipulating events so that Kaguya is resurrected instead of Madara achieving his dream. Kaguya immediately transports the battlefield into her own dimension, separating Team 7 and their allies from the rest of the army. The first of her dimensions is filled with lava. Black Zetsu, emerging from her arms, tries to drain Naruto and Sasuke of their chakra and tells them her story. Obito Uchiha uses his Kamui to bring Sasuke back from another dimension and gives his life for the team. Naruto misleads her with shadow clones, and in the end Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi seal her together. Her sealing frees the tailed beasts, and Hagoromo brings Team 7 back from her dimension.
