Konohamaru Sarutobi

The Third Hokage's grandson who wants to be known by his own name.

Konohamaru Sarutobi is a Konohagakure ninja in Naruto, the grandson of the Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi, who wants to follow his grandfather as Hokage.

Background

Named after the village itself, Konohamaru wants the villagers to know him by his own name rather than as the Hokage's grandson, and he treats Naruto as his mentor in that ambition, copying his work ethic, his determination and signature techniques such as the Rasengan and the Sexy Jutsu. He insists, though, that he will only take the office once Naruto has been Hokage first.

By the series epilogue he has reached the rank of jonin and captains Team Konohamaru. His design gave Kishimoto great difficulty. He intended Konohamaru to look like a "punk" smaller than Naruto, yet every attempt came out as a recreation of Naruto, until he gave him small, angry-looking eyes and was instantly happy with the result.

Ikue Ōtani voices him in the Japanese anime, with Akiko Koike as a stand-in, and Hidenori Takahashi voices his adult self; in English Colleen O'Shaughnessey voices the younger Konohamaru and Max Mittelman the adult.
