Katya

Katya is a character in Metro Exodus. A trained nurse from the southern Urals, she travelled west by rail with her husband Senya, her daughter Nastya and a group of about fifteen people looking for a better life. After crossing the Volga their train was seized by the Church of the Water Tsar, a cult that dismantled the locomotive and threw the pieces into the river; the rest of the group died on the suicide missions the cult sent them on against mutants, and Senya was killed for using technology, which left Katya and her daughter serving the cult and its leader Silantius, who would not even let her treat the sick. When the Aurora's crew arrived in 2035, Artyom and Anna rescued them. Aboard the train Katya grew close to the ranger Stepan, who proposed to her before the Valley; Miller married them on the Aurora, where she took over the work of doctor.
