Little Dark One

The Little Dark One, also called the Baby Dark One or simply the Dark One, is a major character in Metro: Last Light and the presumed last survivor of the Dark Ones, who becomes Artyom's ally; he does not appear in the first game. Unlike the adults of his kind he has red skin, green eyes and a mouth; he finds ragged clothes in the level The Crossing and in Polis disguises himself as a child in an oversized raincoat. Besides telepathy he can let Artyom see the outlines of enemies through walls and the ghosts of phantoms, and he reads the minds and intentions of humans and mutants and judges whether they are good or evil. Curious about how Metro people live and shocked that they once lived in skyscrapers, he is also a practical companion, finding filters, ammunition and medkits, warning of danger and distracting a Demon on the level Bridge. He says he carries all the memories of his race.
