Yermak

Andrei Ivanovich Yermak is a character who first appears in Metro Exodus. One of Moscow's few surviving metro workers, he is the helmsman of the Aurora and the man who keeps it running. A metro engineer on the Ring Line before the war, bored and dreaming of a real railroad, he lost his wife Tatiana and his son when the bombs fell; his daughter survived with him in the Metro but later died of tuberculosis. He signed on to drive a surface train for Hansa, discovered the mass graves of the people Hansa executed for trying to enter Moscow, and kept working out of fear for his daughter and then out of hopelessness. He knows the Spartans' armoured train down to its smallest bolt, from the steam engine to the wagons.
