Simon Manus
Leader of the Alchemists and the game's last great foe.
The game's plot involves Geppetto adding a secret directive into the Covenant to control most Puppets.[1] Sentient Puppets with awakened "Ego" can bypass the Covenant's restrictions.[1]
How it changed
Geppetto's secret directive allowed him nearly-unlimited control of most Puppets.[1] Sentient Puppets whose "Ego" awakened could bypass the Covenant's restrictions.[1] These sentient Puppets could be revived as nearly-identical versions of dead Humans.[1] The King of Puppets was the revived Puppet of Carlo's best friend Romeo.[1]
Until his death, the King tried to avoid further death and warn P of Geppetto's deception.[1] The man posing as treasure hunter Alidoro was an impostor who killed the original.[1] The "King of Riddles" contacting P by phone is Arlecchino, one of the first Sentient Puppets.[1] A post-credits scene reveals Giangio is actually a deceiver named Philippus Paracelsus.[2]
The protagonist P is a revived puppet that replicates Geppetto's son Carlo.[1]
What the maker and period sources say
A 2023 walkthrough by El Ouardighi states that after reaching Hotel Krat, players encounter several NPCs.[3] The same source notes that Treasure Hunter Alidoro has a rather interesting quest.[3] Defeating main bosses in Lies of P rewards players with Rare Ergos.[3]
