The Three Great Families
Ancient bloodlines forged in power now crumble under the weight of their own decay.
At the apex of jujutsu society stand the Three Great Families: Gojo, Kamo, and Zenin. Together they nominate the Jujutsu Commander, the head of the Jujutsu Headquarters, whom the Prime Minister then appoints. While often divided by ideology and resources, their collective authority remains the bedrock supporting the Jujutsu Higher-Ups.
Lore & Background
The principals of the Tokyo and Kyoto Jujutsu High Schools are appointed on the recommendation of these clans, and the Jujutsu Society is criticized for the outsized influence of its elite families. The aftermath of the Shibuya Incident hits all three: Maki Zen'in destroys most of the Zen'in clan, Kenjaku takes over the Kamo clan, and Satoru Gojo, head of the Gojo clan, dies fighting Sukuna.
Reader's Guide
The Three Great Families anchor traditional jujutsu society, where birthright often outweighs personal growth. The Gojo clan is headed by Satoru Gojo, wielder of Limitless and the Six Eyes, whose strength lets him shield his students from the more conservative members of the jujutsu community. The Kamo clan hands down Blood Manipulation, inherited by Noritoshi Kamo. The Zen'in clan holds the hereditary Ten Shadows Technique and recognizes only male members with powerful techniques, rejecting everyone else.
