Tengen Immortality Status
An immortal sorcerer whose body must be renewed every five hundred years.
Tengen is an immortal Jujutsu Sorcerer who resides permanently within the Tombs of the Star Corridor and maintains the protective barriers around the two Jujutsu High schools.
Lore & Background
Tengen's Immortality technique spares them from aging, but every five hundred years they must restore their body by merging with a Star Plasma Vessel; otherwise the technique makes them evolve beyond humanity into a potentially dangerous state. The merger due in 2006 fails when Riko Amanai is killed, and by the present day Tengen has become a being that is part Curse and part human.
Reader's Guide
Kenjaku plans to force a merger between Tengen and all of humanity through the Culling Game. He storms Jujutsu High, overcomes Yuki Tsukumo and Choso and captures Tengen. After Kenjaku's death Tengen's soul passes to Sukuna, and once Sukuna dies the remnants found in his remains are preserved by Yoshinobu Gakuganji to sustain Japan's barriers.
