Megumi Fushiguro summons it in Shibuya when he is near death at the hands of the curse user Haruta Shigemo. The ritual leaves the summoner in a death-like state until Mahoraga is defeated or has killed both the summoner and the target. Sukuna, who wants Megumi alive, fights the shikigami himself and opens his Domain Expansion, Malevolent Shrine, whose slashes tear through Mahoraga and kill Haruta.
Reader's Guide
After taking Megumi's body, Sukuna summons a now tamed Mahoraga to defeat Yorozu. In his duel with Satoru Gojo he unleashes it again, and it adapts even to Gojo's Infinity and lands a grave blow.
