Lore & Background
Buggies are one of the main sources of transportation in the Wasteland, a large desert setting in Jak 3. They are used alongside leaper lizards and zoomers.
In Their Own Story
The canyon wall hums with the vibration of a thousand tiny legs. Jak crouches, one knee on the warm stone, and watches the little green shape scuttle along a crack in the rock. Buggy does not seem to notice him. He clicks his mandibles at a passing beetle, then pauses, antennae twitching, as if listening to something far below. Daxter's shadow falls over them both. "You're gonna ride that thing, aren't you?"
Jak says nothing. He reaches down, and Buggy's little legs grip his wrist with a surprising firmness. The world tilts. The canyon walls, which had been eye-level, now tower. The wind smells of dust and old metal. Buggy's gait is a quick, bouncy tick-tick-tick against the stone, and Jak feels the whole world vibrate through his boots. They go fast. They go small. And for a moment, the ruins are not ruins at all but a vast, sun-drenched playground built for something much, much tinier than a hero.
