The Vikings of Berk
The Hooligan Tribe of Berk, who went from fighting dragons to living beside them.
The Vikings of Berk, the Hooligan Tribe, live in a village on the Isle of Berk that dragons raid for livestock. They are led by the chieftain Stoick the Vast and, after his death in How to Train Your Dragon 2, by his son Hiccup. After Hiccup befriends the Night Fury Toothless and the Red Death is defeated, Berk begins a new era in which humans and dragons live in peace.

Lore & Background
In the first film Hiccup's final exam in the dragon-fighting class requires him to kill a dragon. Five years later the villagers and dragons are at peace, and Stoick's funeral follows his death in the battle with Drago. In The Hidden World Berk is overcrowded with rescued dragons and attacked by dragon hunters; after Grimmel's Deathgrippers destroy the village, Hiccup leads its people to a new island, New Berk, where the Berkians release their dragons to the Hidden World and Hiccup and Astrid become chieftains. In Cressida Cowell's novels Stoick is chief of the Hairy Hooligans.
