Lore & Background
Drago Bludvist sets his own Bewilderbeast against Valka's alpha, killing it and taking control of all the dragons. Toothless breaks free in a glowing, super-powered dominant state, frees the other dragons from the Bewilderbeast's hold and becomes their new alpha. In The Hidden World warlords want Toothless captured for use as an alpha, and he becomes alpha of the dragons of the Hidden World; in The Nine Realms the dying Night Light Elder passes the role and power of Alpha to Thunder.
