Shadow Thieves
The thieves' guild of Amn, based in Athkatla.
The Shadow Thieves are the thieves' guild of Amn in the Forgotten Realms. They hold considerable power, operate all along the Sword Coast and are based in Athkatla, the capital of Amn, as shown in the 2000 video game Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn.
Lore & Background
In Shadows of Amn the guild is led by Aran Linvail and is one of the factions that drive the story and its side quests, together with the Cowled Wizards and the Harpers. The game opens with Shadow Thieves attacking the complex of the wizard Jon Irenicus. In the slums of Athkatla a man named Gaelan Bayle offers the party the help of a powerful organization, which can find Imoen or Irenicus for 20,000 gold pieces.
