Emerald Enclave

A loose coalition of druids, clerics, and bards holding heavy influence over the Vilhon Reach.

The Emerald Enclave is a fictional organization appearing in the Forgotten Realms setting for the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game. Described as a power group, it functions as a loose coalition composed mostly of druids, clerics, and bards. While their influence spans beyond a single location, they hold heavy sway over the Vilhon Reach region. Unlike rigid hierarchies found in other factions, this organization operates with flexibility, serving as a dominant yet often contested power within its sphere. Their presence defines the political landscape of the Reach, acting as a stabilizing force that currently holds sway despite lacking the broad popular base required to fully administer the territory.

Background

Within the history of the Vilhon Reach, the Emerald Enclave stands as a prominent power that has risen to fill a significant void. Trenton Webb, reviewing The Vilhon Reach for Arcane magazine, noted that while the organization currently holds sway, it lacks the popular base to run the region effectively, leaving the area in a precarious power vacuum. Throughout the long history of the Reach, one prominent power has always existed; however, with the rise and fall of empires, the people have developed deep-seated reasons to hate one another. In this specific vacuum created by the Enclave's limitations, old rivalries and new jealousies have transformed the region into a powder keg ready to blow. Each country within the Reach is rife with plots, creating a volatile situation where the success of any single plot could drag the entire region down into civil war.
