Lore & Background

To halt Moro's cosmic hunger, the Galactic Patrol recruits Goku and Vegeta for a high-stakes journey to New Namek. Here, the arc transforms into a crucible of divine evolution: under the guidance of Merus, an angel-in-training bound by celestial law, Goku pushes his body toward the elusive state of Ultra Instinct—a reflexive defense where thought no longer precedes action. Meanwhile, Vegeta travels to the planet Yardrat to learn its natives' unconventional techniques, among them Forced Spirit Fission.

Reader's Guide

In the final confrontation on Earth, Goku achieves the full power of Ultra Instinct, and Vegeta takes away Moro's stolen life energy with his new technique. When Goku is caught by Moro, Vegeta uses his Forced Spirit Fission in reverse and gives the energy of their friends and the god power of Uub to Goku, allowing him to break free and defeat Moro. The fight has a price: Merus, by using his Angel powers to seal Moro's copy ability, violates Angel law and ceases to exist, though he is later allowed to be resurrected as a mortal.
