Kyrie

Fortuna's songstress, Credo's sister and the reason Nero fights.

Kyrie is a supporting character introduced in Devil May Cry 4. Born and raised in Fortuna, she sings for the Order of the Sword at the Festival of the Sword; she is Credo's younger sister and Nero's childhood friend and love interest. Misled into thinking Nero is evil, she is taken hostage by Agnus on Sanctus's orders to lure Nero to the Savior, and by the time he reaches her she has already been fused with it. Her capture drives Credo to turn against the Order, and once Dante frees Nero from the Savior, Nero frees Kyrie and the two begin a new life together.

Background

In Devil May Cry 5 Kyrie is heard but not seen: once in the flashback in which Nero loses the Devil Bringer, and once when a phone call with her renews his resolve to end the fight between Dante and Vergil. Director Hideaki Itsuno was responsible for most of her design; she was envisioned as an ordinary, cute heroine who has a big impact on Nero despite not being a fighter, and her role was to motivate Nero and the player as the story progresses.
